This is my Calendar art it is

a car finishing in the race 1st.  

I had to take my time.  

The people that sponsor the

car is facebook,

  the car’s number is 78.  

This is my footprint art.   

The colours I used were red, blue,

black, gray and white.  

When I had finished my artwork I

felt so awesome that I would make

another one just like it.

The steps I followed were

plan it out,

            paint the top half ,   

wait for it to dry,

then put your foot in paint    

and put it on the paper.

wait for it to dry,

draw the other bits and

colour it in.

Animal Band Reader's Theatre

WALT perform to an audience.
Success Criteria.

For the Animal Band performance, we had to speak clearly, speak loudly, speak with expression and speak together as a group.
I was a robber, I had to say "Help, what's that terrible noise?"  
The main characters were the donkeys because they had the most parts.  
I was very nervous because I was sick and it was hard to keep my cough in until the play was over.

                     SKIMMING READING STRATEGY

WALT skim an unknown text so that we can  quickly get an understanding of it.  
I can decide if a book has useful information I need, or whether I want to read it for pleasure.
These are the things I can do to skim read...

1. look for key words
2. look for a blurb
3. look for pictures
4. look at the cover
5. look for contents
6. look for chapter headings 

City life is better they country life - Term 3 Week 4

WALT persuade other students to agree with our opinion.  This is the purpose for my writing.

Success Criteria:

1. I plan for a writing task
2. I write a variety of sentence lengths with different sentence starters
3. Give reasons with detail - use specific words
4. I write most topic and high frequency words correctly.
5. I use capital letters, fullstops, question marks and exclamation marks correctly.
6. Use persuasive language

City life is better they country life.

In my opinion city life is better they country life.

First, in the city the shops are around the corner, but in the country the shops are far away from your home and it would take forever to get to the shops.

In country life it would be hard to raise a baby or a kid, because you won’t have the money.  In the city you will have the money because you will go to work.

In city life there are more aquariums so you can see the things that live in the ocean.  The country has no aquarium to see the wonderful things that live in the ocean.

Therefore I believe that city life is better they country life.

Bogis Turned To The Dark Side - Week 8

Once upon time there lived a man, his name was Bogis.  He was very vile, he washed his body with a dead bird , brushed his teeth with clam. One day Bogis was going to school, when all of a sudden a car came off the road. BOOM!! He was knocked out.  When he woke up he was a bad man.  
Then he went to the gun shop and bought a pistol. BANG!!  Bogis shot all of the windows in the shop, the man in the shop yelled (this is not Bogis speaking) 
“Hey, your not allowed to do that because it's illegal!” 
“Yeah, what you gonna do about it,” 
BANG!!. The man in the shop was shot dead, Bogis changed his name to Venom. Then he went to the Lamborghini and V8 shop. Venom punched the guy in the shop and stole a V8. Vroom! Vroom! He was speeding on the foot path. Smash! Smash! Smash!  He kept smashing the letter boxes. 
The whole army blocked the exit. KABOOM! KABOOM! The first bullet missed but the second bullet hit the car engine. Boom! The car blew up in flames. Venom died in the flames. THE END.

Area - Week 6

Area is the total number of square units inside a shape.

This is how we find area:
We count rows and columns.  We multiply the rows and columns to get the area.



5 x 5 = 25 square units:
We can use area to fit rugs inside a shape, pools, building homes or painting.

The Day the Death Came. - Week 5

Once upon a time there lived a man named Nathan.  He worked in a building close to the hot desert.  One day he went for a stroll along the desert, all of a sudden a scorpion climbed up his back with out him noticing.
Sting!  Nathan gets stung!
Straight away Nathan fell down and as soon as he was on the ground he grew sharp teeth, glowing red eyes, a dark black cape and sharp claws on his hands and feet.   His keys for his office turned into a long black sword.
He changed his name to Death.  He went back tohis aprtment but instead of opening the door he sliced the door in half and threw people to the side so he could get through.
Then he jumped out of the window and ran to the biggest hotel in the world. He went around the inside of the hotel smashing windows and slicing doors.  Straight away he got super strength. lazers coming out of his eyes and thunder coming out of his hands.
When he was finished slicing doors and smashing wndows, he went to the Airport.  He got into one of the planes and grabbed the pilots and threw them out the window, he took the plane in the air and jumped out of the window.  When he was in the air he was swinging his sword around, smash, he went right through the roof of the Airport.
Death (Nathan) jumped up on his feet and Death yelled with anger, "I'm going to rule the United States of America!"
He ran to the army base and got into a tank.  Boom!  Smash!  He was smashing the army base , the people in the army were shooting and shotting at the tank but it did not blow up.  The commander of the army said "Its no use, we can't beat him,"
"Yes we can," said one of the rookies.
"We just need to be determined."

Oans upon time there lived a man named Nathan he wrck in a bileding

and his keys for hofis turned into a long black soed.  He chaed his name to Deeth.  He went back to his apatmint but insteed  of opening the door he slist the door in hafi and throw people to the sied so he cooed get throw.

Then he jamt out the window and ran to the biggst hotal in the wrld. He went around the insied the hotal smashing windows and slising doors.  strat away he got super steeth, lazer caming out of his eyes, thunder caming out of his hans.

When he was finished sliysing door and smashing windows he went to the Airpot.  He got into one of the plane and graed the pilits and throw them out the window and tock the plane in the air and jamp out the window.

When he was in the air he was swinging his soed around smash he went riyt throw the roth of the Airpot Deeth (Nathan) jamt up on his feet and Deeth yalled with agu “Im going to roll the unitied stas of amac!” he ran to amey bays and got into a tack. boom! smash! he was smashing the amey bays the people in the amey were shooting and shooting at the tack but it did not blow up the cmada of the amey said “It no yos we cant bet him,” “Yes we can,”said one of the roces “we jast ned to be dtrmined.”

The Summarising Strategy - Week 4

You need to find key words because they can show you the meaning of a sentence. 

Here are some examples of three key words:

Race, Charlie and pigeon.  

Here is an example of a sentence:

Charlie is a homing pigeon that races long distances.

You don't want to plagiarise - this is copying other's work.

Room 12 measurement week 3

Room 12 is about learning measurement, this is me and my name .  My name is 1m long and I used 50 matchsticks
(but not the matchsticks you used to light fire)
It took 3 and a half rulers.We had to us a starting point and a finishing point.

Regular Show - Week 2

 

This is Mordecai and Rigby from regular show.  They are the main characters in the episode.  In the last episode they did stunts because they were trying to get a stunt licence for a kids birthday.  The kids name is Toby.  Mordecai and Rigby get in trouble all the time.

Fancy Cars - Week 1

This car has a completely black

screen and a completely gray body.

All these cars have black hubcaps.

This is a car with 6 lights at the front and 4 lights at the back.

My Swimming Reflection

I learned how to…  breathe on both sides.  

Something I found challenging was… nothing challenging.

At the end of the year I would like to improve on…floating on my  back.

Mrs Miller, Mr Kenny or Mrs Lowe could help me by…it was just

right.

The best part about swimming was...everything.

Smash

My superhero lives in a dark cave in a forest.  In the cave are swords hanging on the wall.

My superheroes name is Smash.  He is 100 feet tall, and he has a sword and a boomerang.

His colour is black and red.  His logo is a red eagle, he has gloves with metal thorns on the knuckles.  He has very sharp teeth, his super powers are hypnotising, he turns into stuff.  He turns people into snakes.

I  am dressed as Aslan.  He is from the movie Narnia, the lion, the witch and the wardrobe.                                                                                                                                                         

Helping Hands

Room 12  has  been  learning  about rotating (turning), translating (sliding) and reflection (flipping).
Look carefully and you will  see them in my poster.
