Camp Omatua-2016

This is me in my swag. My car is a mini cooper. I named my car rich money. My car got its name because it has a money sign on the back.	This is the handsomest group, we were making a house out of bamboo and tape and it was really fun.
Look at me on the big black tube. It was so much fun going on the tubes. I hope we bring the tubes next year.	Does Mr Ford look fancy dressed up as a waiter? He was serving the V.I.P ( very important persons). I wonder how much he gets paid?
When I bring the kayak up the river this is what I looked like, I know... so handsome!	These are all the gorgeous faces in Kauri 8/9 on the steps behind the dining room. Can you find me or do I blend in with everyone that is on the steps?

This is my Calendar art it is

a car finishing in the race 1st.  

I had to take my time.  

The people that sponsor the

car is facebook,

  the car’s number is 78.  

This is my footprint art.   

The colours I used were red, blue,

black, gray and white.  

When I had finished my artwork I

felt so awesome that I would make

another one just like it.

The steps I followed were

plan it out,

            paint the top half ,   

wait for it to dry,

then put your foot in paint    

and put it on the paper.

wait for it to dry,

draw the other bits and

colour it in.

Animal Band Reader's Theatre

WALT perform to an audience.
Success Criteria.

For the Animal Band performance, we had to speak clearly, speak loudly, speak with expression and speak together as a group.
I was a robber, I had to say "Help, what's that terrible noise?"  
The main characters were the donkeys because they had the most parts.  
I was very nervous because I was sick and it was hard to keep my cough in until the play was over.

                     SKIMMING READING STRATEGY

WALT skim an unknown text so that we can  quickly get an understanding of it.  
I can decide if a book has useful information I need, or whether I want to read it for pleasure.
These are the things I can do to skim read...

1. look for key words
2. look for a blurb
3. look for pictures
4. look at the cover
5. look for contents
6. look for chapter headings 

City life is better they country life - Term 3 Week 4

WALT persuade other students to agree with our opinion.  This is the purpose for my writing.

Success Criteria:

1. I plan for a writing task
2. I write a variety of sentence lengths with different sentence starters
3. Give reasons with detail - use specific words
4. I write most topic and high frequency words correctly.
5. I use capital letters, fullstops, question marks and exclamation marks correctly.
6. Use persuasive language

City life is better they country life.

In my opinion city life is better they country life.

First, in the city the shops are around the corner, but in the country the shops are far away from your home and it would take forever to get to the shops.

In country life it would be hard to raise a baby or a kid, because you won’t have the money.  In the city you will have the money because you will go to work.

In city life there are more aquariums so you can see the things that live in the ocean.  The country has no aquarium to see the wonderful things that live in the ocean.

Therefore I believe that city life is better they country life.

Bogis Turned To The Dark Side - Week 8

Once upon time there lived a man, his name was Bogis.  He was very vile, he washed his body with a dead bird , brushed his teeth with clam. One day Bogis was going to school, when all of a sudden a car came off the road. BOOM!! He was knocked out.  When he woke up he was a bad man.  
Then he went to the gun shop and bought a pistol. BANG!!  Bogis shot all of the windows in the shop, the man in the shop yelled (this is not Bogis speaking) 
“Hey, your not allowed to do that because it's illegal!” 
“Yeah, what you gonna do about it,” 
BANG!!. The man in the shop was shot dead, Bogis changed his name to Venom. Then he went to the Lamborghini and V8 shop. Venom punched the guy in the shop and stole a V8. Vroom! Vroom! He was speeding on the foot path. Smash! Smash! Smash!  He kept smashing the letter boxes. 
The whole army blocked the exit. KABOOM! KABOOM! The first bullet missed but the second bullet hit the car engine. Boom! The car blew up in flames. Venom died in the flames. THE END.

Area - Week 6

Area is the total number of square units inside a shape.

This is how we find area:
We count rows and columns.  We multiply the rows and columns to get the area.



5 x 5 = 25 square units:
We can use area to fit rugs inside a shape, pools, building homes or painting.
